I Met a Guy Named Elliott at a Party and Had No Idea Who He Was

I was invited to a birthday party a couple of years ago. I was having a good time, talking to people, having a drink when my friend came over and said, "I want to introduce you to a friend of mine that's a photographer" I said, "Sure! Let's meet your friend". My friend introduces me to a man by the name of Elliott Erwitt, we shook hands and casually talked for a bit, I said good bye to Elliott and walked away.  I was totally oblivious as to who this man was. When I got home I googled him to see if I could find any of his work, to my surprise I found some of these images below:

When I saw the level of this man's work I realized that I had met one photography's greatest artists! And not only that, i met someone who had been at the very center of some of the most iconic moments of the 20th century.

Had I known who he was I would have talked to him and asked him a million questions, about Marilyn, Kennedy, Nixon and many of the other historical figures in his pictures, I'm sure he must have some incredible stories.

Oh well, until the next party, maybe I'll run into Elliott again.

Waiting For The VR Recording Studio

I'm dreaming of the day when we'll be able to have sessions in virtual reality, that day is a little bit closer today thanks to solo developer Logan Olson and his VR studio Sound Stage.

Sound Stage is a music instrument sandbox built specifically for room-scale virtual reality. For professional DJ's or hobbyists who want to have fun in a virtual world.

As a heavy user of Protools, Logic and Live I can't wait to see the integration of VR into their software.

Pokemon Go Apocalypse!!!!
May you live in interesting times

As some of you may know I'm obsessed with technology and how it will affect us in our daily lives, the way we think, the way we work, the way we do absolutely everything.

Imagine for a moment if you could describe to somebody from the 1800's the world that we live in today, how people are going crazy over a game called Pokemon Go. How would you describe to that person our tech driven society so that they would understand? It would be next to impossible, if they could peek into our time they would think we've gone insane! It's already hard enough for some people in today's world to understand what's going on with technology.  People in different eras have different perceptions of reality, of experiencing life according to their time and place in the world. Now technology is about to push us into uncharted territory as never before, into a new era.

The new augmented reality game Pokemon Go is a perfect example of this new paradigm, how it affects the users, how people can literally fall off cliffs and almost die in the process of playing this game as you'll see on the CNN story bellow.  Imagine for a moment a parallel universe where the whole world goes insane while playing Pokemon Go , society breaks down, people don't go to work, kids don't go to school, cats and dogs living together! (As the world renowned Dr. Egon Spengler PhD would say) The world as we know it would cease to exist! Even though a Pokemon Go apocalypse is unlikely to happen any time soon we are beginning to see early signs of the effects technology will have on our world.

Working with comedian/actor/director Eugenio Dervez

I got to work on a super fun new music project for Walmart with Mexican comedian, director and actor Eugenio Derbez.  We had the session at LA’s legendary The Village Recording Studios. I arranged and produced a version of the Xmas song "Deck The Halls" in Spanish for Eugenio to sing. We also produced another version of "We Wish You A Merry Xmas" for the Walmart campaign. I'm very grateful to all the folks at Duotone Audio NYC for bringing me into this project.
